your donation makes a difference
Your monetary donations will go directly into our scholarship fund. Here are ways those dollars are used by the recipients:
Driving School to obtain a license to become a driver or continue on to become a safari guide.
College-Level Courses to further their mountain training, develop a trade (i.e. electrical, business), wildlife certification and degrees to be a safari guide.
Health and Dental Care because the cost of health or dental insurance can be out of reach for many.
Starting a Side-Business to supplement their income in the off-season.
How donations are being used
Giving to Project Rudisha means giving nearly 100% of your donation to the programs supporting guides and porters.
We keep our expenses low by being entirely volunteer-run, with a dedicated team who share a deep commitment to this cause. Each of us has experienced the joy of hiking Kilimanjaro firsthand and has witnessed the dedication and hard work of the guides and porters, inspiring our mission to support them.
We continue to work directly with several guides based in Arusha, Tanzania, ensuring that funds go directly to those we have designated.
It brings us great joy and a sense of accomplishment to know the help we provide benefits not only the guides and porters but also their families. We are committed to making a long-term impact and enacting lasting change for those we are able to assist.
On April 17, 2025, Project Rudisha reached a key milestone and applied for 501(c)(3) tax-exempt non-profit status. This means all donations are now tax deductible under the rules of 501(c)(3).
